4Educational Activities to Realize a Society with Lifelong Employment5Employment Support for the Elderly▲Elderly Employment Development Forum (Panel discussion)■ Support for Employers Concerning Elderly Employment If companies are to enable people to work regardless of their age, they must further develop their employment environments by improving their personnel management systems to accommodate various working styles and enhancing health management, work environments, and employees’ morale. For these purposes, JEED collects and disseminates information on employers’ good practices in order to ensure the smooth implementation of elderly employment security measures up to the age of 65 for all elderly employees who wish to continue working and will promote the concept of companies where people can work regardless of their age. JEED accumulates companies’ good initiatives that will help to improve the work environment for elderly workers and holds contests to recognize the best practices, with the awards ceremony at the Elderly Employment Development Forum being held every year in October, the designated Elderly Employment Support Month. In the Forum, companies have opportunities to introduce their initiatives. In addition, local workshops and symposia are held to promote understanding aimed at creating a society with lifelong employment. Also, JEED makes efforts to collect companies’ various initiatives, including raising retirement age up to 65. The information on their good practices in elderly employment as well as measures to address an aging society are to be broadly disseminated to the general public and companies, with the aim of building national momentum towards realizing a society with lifelong employment. ▲Collection of Practices in Elderly Employment Development Contest
