Educational Activities and Information Distribution
Various public information and educational activities are developed for raising awareness of the general public about the employment of the elderly.
1 Publications, etc.
Educational Journal "ELDER"
JEED publishes the educational journal "ELDER," which introduces successful examples of companies that have solved issues concerning the aging and employment of the elderly.
Books and Pamphlets
JEED publishes books and pamphlets addressing the elderly employment issues and introduction of companies that are good models regarding the employment of the elderly.
Posters and Television Commercials
JEED creates posters and television commercials supporting employment of the elderly. The posters are displayed nationwide and commercials are broadcast on local stations across the nation.
2 Dissemination of Information on Examples of Adaptation
JEED collects good adaptation examples for the employment of the elderly (job re-design, personnel management, wages, healthcare, skill development, etc.) and compiles them into a database (Workplace Adaptation Support System) for dissemination via the Internet.
Awareness-raising Events
Every year, October is designated as "Employment Support for the Elderly Month." During this period, JEED, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and Prefectural Associations for Employment Support, conducts educational activities with a view to fostering employment opportunities for the elderly among not only employers but also the general public.
1 Elderly Employment Festa
The "Elderly Employment Festa" is the core event of the Employment Support for the Elderly Month. The Festa is designed to further understanding of the employment of the elderly by employers and the general public. The Festa includes the Elderly Employment Development Forum (a research meeting), a public symposium, introduction of successful examples of companies and various exhibitions.
2 Elderly Employment Development Contest
In order to provide assistance in solving problems related to the employment of the elderly, JEED collects examples of adaptation development that have been undertaken by companies. Outstanding works are commended at the site of the "Elderly Employment Festa" and are compiled as a database for public access on the Internet.
